What we do
Form our workshop, nestled in the Stour estuary that borders Essex and Suffolk, we design and make lighting and furniture products.
We offer a range of popular products on our online store alongside our truly bespoke, design, build and install service.
We take pride in designing and manufacturing unique, high-quality lighting and furniture products for home and business.
We work in the events industry as well as the retail and hospitality industries.
We provide a bespoke service to private customers who require the finest lighting and furniture products to suit their property.
We find solution to difficult lighting problems, from period properties that require specialist materials and careful consideration to modern architectural homes that deserve more than off the shelf alternatives.
Our design service and process is all about you. You may have seen something you wish to replicate for your own project or you may need inspiration and be starting with a blank canvas approach. We can provide the right solution for you.
All of our our work is insured, guaranteed and compliant.
We use a wide range of materials and processes in our work,
- Metal fabrication, welding, laser cutting, folding, threading
- Woodwork, use of exotic wood, traditional cabinet making and joinery
- Glass work, toughened glass, art glass, glass etching
- CNC robotic, precision cutting
- Engineering, milling, pressing and turning most metals
- Electrics, specialist lighting design and calculations, power and tech solutions
- Sculptural, castings in bronze, iron, resin
- 3D, 3D printing, fibreglass, 5 axis milling
- Upholstery and fabrics
- Drawings and design, full CAD designed service, 3D renders
- Compliance, CE/UKCA for portable electrical equipment
- Fire rated and other compliance requirements
- Environmental, our workshop waste is hand sorted and recycled

CASE STUDY
Client, Mr M Southwell
Location, private house Norfolk UK
Timescale, Oct 24 - Jan 25

Brief
Design and install a lighting solution for illuminating 3 no. skylight in country house, flat roof, lounge-kitchen-dinner extension.
Provide ambient lighting and functional lighting that is sympathetic to the materials used in the room.
Existing room
Consideration and design
Requirements for this install would include high quality materials and a high integrity design. The openings of the skylight are large, 1.5m across, so a well proportioned design that didn't get lost in the space but also didn't take over and detract from the beautiful, high-end oak kitchen, that is the main focal point of the space.
3D renders, we start the design process with clear visuals to get an over all feel for the project
Concept
To frame the openings to the skylights in oak to match the oak architrave and doors. Proving up and down lighting in each space that have independent dimmer controls. Incorporate opal defused lighting within the body of the frame. To make the lighting feel like an integral part of the design of the room rather than an afterthought.
CAD drawing showing the details, there were 3 revisions of these to achieve the final design, when the design is finalised we turn out, attention to drafting the build plans
Production
We used traditional carpentry methods along side CNC robotic cutting to provide the curves of the round light. We used a large scale assembly then one piece cutting for integrity and strength. Cutting out as much as we can in one piece, avoids unnecessary joints, however the oak curved section that make up the circular frame can only be done in pieces.
CNC machine cutting allowing for precise work
Materials
A mixture of planed oak, constructional veneer, Melamine MDF and opal acrylic were used in the fabrication to achieve this.
Sanding and preparing the oak curved sections
Lighting
We used 6W per meter, high output warm white LEDs achieving a total of 31,000 lumens output with a total of 204W power consumption over all. Individually installed dimmable drivers give the flexibility for the lighting to be used as soft ambient light or functional task lights.
LED set into the body of the light fitting, chosen for their high output
Installation
This job required several site visits, for surveying, templating and installation. Our specialist team are used to both working in the workshop and working away from home for installations both in the UK and all over Europe. Each job like this requires a well thought out method for installation, our friendly team are professional and diligent.
This is considered by us to be a non disruptive installation and required very little in the way of making good afterwards.
